Under questioning from Brown, David Cameron had to admit that he cannot match Labour’s spending plans on schooling and policing. Yet, he has promised to cut inheritance tax for the richest and will have to cut public spending as a result. His efficiency saving also showed a lack of credibility after he was unable to outline in detail how savings of £6 billion would be made. Already the signs are there that the Tories would take us back to the 80’s where social policy let down the masses.
