psykosel is DEFINITELY wrong. Eletronic drum kits are still being used by a lot of bands. Check all the Human League tour videos and you´ll see why electro drums are still around!

The sounds are all pure (now dated) cheese and his vocals blow. Notice how the audience stands stock fucking still all the way through a song about dancing. Terrible.

Pure 80s and a forgotten gem. Got the 7″ single of the follow up ‘Praying to the Beat’, which is pretty damn fine too……

The radio edition sounds much better, I know , Ihave it on tape from back in the late 90’s when the Philly area had an 80’s music station called The Point 96.5 sounds much smoother:)

I was in high school in 1983.
liquidus2172 is right…music was better back then. Not quite as good as late ’60s and early 70s, but still lots of good stuff. Creative stuff from Britain, and America had good musicians.

Yeah—I loved this song at the time—it’s pretty much a forgotten ’80’s classic tune in my book, which is too bad, because it really was a great hit, like you said. I didn’t even know this live performance existed. Believe it or not, this tune just popped in my head 15 min ago and I looked it up. As banging as this song was, the audience is totally dead, even though the band is throwing down–weird! I also remmeber seeing the video to their other song “Hurt” only once.

Maybe just a ‘one hit wonder’ but it was a great hit – so different at the time! The B-side was good ‘Cruel World’: doeas any kind soul have it to upload? Happy New Year to all!
