The American Political Spectrum-N.Chomsky C. Hitchens (1992)

Noam Chomsky and Christopher Hitchens have a very informative and funny joint interview/discussion regarding many of the issues regarding the media. Issues of how it functions, how it selects and excludes and what its effects are. They also take calls and questions from listeners. I thought I should stick some sort of picture with the audio and I liked this one it has no real symbolic significance ..or does it? muwahahahah!

He bent his back when he was working in Cuba in the 60s. He only became privileged in the last few years. He was living paycheck to paycheck for most of his life.

Yes, he is a supporter of oppression. It makes me sick when he condemns dogmatic religious doctrines or the homicidal and suicidal attacks in the now democratic Iraq. His contempt for the restoration of a theocratic, Islamic empire makes my heart wrench.

I guess it would be a form of appeal to authority.

I suppose I have to admit that’s a valid point. I wonder what logical fallacy I’ve just committed?

Ones understanding of linguistics does not necessarily mean that you have to be good at public speaking.

Hitchens decided long ago to be on the side of the wealthy. He is unsympathetic to those who bend their backs for a living because he never did it in his entire, privelidged life. He is a snobby English cunt with a snobby turn of phrase which fools idiots into thinking he’s clever and therefore correct. I don’t doubt his limited intelligence ( and limited it is) but he isn’t correct just because he’s articulate. He’s a deceitful, supporter of oppression. He cares not for justice, only for ease.

How can a professor of linguistics have such an inadequate command of the english language?

It’s sad to see how Hitchens has changed his song and dance. The people he was denouncing in1992, are the people he’s been rubbing elbows with for nearly a decade now.

How does one “earn the right” to stand up for the reputation of someone whom they admire?

Perhaps you’re intelligent. Calling Chomsky a moron, or equating the recognition of his obvious gifts with having one’s tongue in his ass, is a good way to hide it. It’s also the behavior of a troll; my reaction was not. Why waste your time watching a “moron”? Reading Chomsky actually is working on my shortcomings (ignorance and complacency). You might try it sometime, if the new, intelligent you (not the insult hurling troll) is for real. I wish you well.

    And you’re calling ME a troll? :)

Maybe you’re being a hypocrite, or maybe you you have no idea what that word means. Either way, I see nothing in your comments to indicate that you’ve earned the right to question either my intelligence or my actions. I suggest you work on your own shortcomings first. You could also try sorting out your anger issues in a productive manner instead of trolling on youtube comments sections. Get a hobby or something. Take up martial arts. Whatever.

Don’t be so proud of your glaring ignorance, you pathetic, perverted little troll. If you turned off the computer and read one of his books, you might actually be able to form a real opinion about his actual work. I don’t expect that though; not too many morons read his books; perhaps Rush or David Duke is more your speed. Most likely though you’ve never read anything that wasn’t on a screen. As I said before, go away, pathetic troll.

“In terms of substance and eloquence, he’s the most devastatingly powerful speaker there is”

    HAHAHAHAHAHA

You know, if you said the same thing about George W. Bush I would have still laughed, but not quite as much. Chomsky has all the eloquence of Paris Hilton, and the substance of a fart. Maybe if you’d pull your tongue out of his ass you’d realize what a sad, pathetic old dweeb he is.

“which is why so few are willing to debate him”

Please. Even Penn and Teller made him look like a moron!

You can only possibly be talking about style, which is absurdly trivial, since you’re refering to the most non-trivial speaker imaginable. In terms of substance and eloquence, he’s the most devastatingly powerful speaker there is, which is why so few are willing to debate him.
